Dear Santa Diary,

Oh what a day it has been!

We started off on a good note, almost immediately looking for presents and being suspicious of everyone's every move.  Poor Sherry couldn't even heat up her tea without the sudden appearance of a bunch of nosey onlookers.  Even though it appeared that she really was just heating up her tea, I do not trust her and am certain she was up to no good!

A couple of presents began to pop up, but I must confess, Santa Diary, I was only mildly interested because they were not MY present.  So I decided to take a pro-active approach and began to search for my present.  Perhaps my Secret Santa wanted me to work for it.  I can respect that.  I asked for creativity and that hardly calls for my gifts to be plopped down right in front of my face.  So I went to work!

My work, however, turned out to be more productive for OTHERS.  Ugh, how annoying, right?  I found Sharon's gift on the floor in the back.  I called everyone back and we debated on whether or not to open it.  I have to say, I am always in favor of opening what you find.  After all, I found it first.  I should get first dibs, right?  Oh Santa Diary, I know you think I am a horrible person for thinking these things and ... you're right!  But all is fair in love and Secret Santa.

I quickly became bored with Sharon's present, especially since no one would let me open it, so I set out, yet again, to find my own.  By this time, everyone had gathered in the front to giggle and twitter about something.  Yes, Santa Diary, twitter.  I am a huge fan of the act and think the world would be a much finer place if only there were more twittering.

But I digress ...

So, yes, twittering ... I then snuck in the back to hide, er, find Sherry's present in the microwave.  I thought of making a huge announcement, but instead found it rather intriguing to know it was there when no one else did, so I put it back and returned to the twittering.  But then I couldn't NOT tell Sherry her gift was there b/c waiting for her to find it may have taken longer than 12 seconds and I just couldn't wait that long.  However, I didn't even watch her open it because I already knew what it .... er ... I mean I wanted to go find my own present.

And find my present, I did!  Twice!  Perhaps even three times!  My Secret Santa got me at least two presents.  There was a third present, unlabeled, practically touching one of my presents that was labeled.  And what does that mean?  Of course, it means that it's mine!  So I took it and opened and it's sitting on my desk right now.

I have suspicions, however, that this gift actually belongs to Sarah and her Secret Santa forgot to put her name on it.  And that's what we like to call in Oklahoma ... tough noogie!

Being the gracious and understanding person that I am, however, I have offered to give the gift to Sarah IF and ONLY IF her Secret Santa confesses to me that he/she neglected to adequately label the gift.  Possessing such inside knowledge would melt the outer frozen edges of my heart and allow me to show kindness to Sarah and give up my shiny new toy to her.

Now, I suppose, it could really be my gift.  But, Secret Santa, isn't it more fun to suppose that it isn't?  ;^)

It's 2:37 and I have nothing to do now but incessantly check my e-mail to see if Sarah's Secret Santa is going to fess up.  Other than that, all I have left is to wait until tomorrow for another fun-filled day of Secret Santa.

Hugs and kisses,
Christal
